An index of where Homewood and Jefferson County post legal notices and public hearings, plus Alabama's statewide notice site. City Hall: 205-332-6100.

Last checked Oct. 17, 2026. This page is an index, not the official publication of any notice. Official legal notices appear where Alabama law requires them, generally in a designated newspaper in the county and on the issuing body’s own site. Always rely on the official notice for dates and deadlines.

Public notices tell you about hearings, rezonings, bids, budgets, tax sales, foreclosures and other actions before they happen. In Homewood they come from several places: the city, the county, the school board and the newspapers that carry legal advertising. This page points you to each.

Statewide newspaper notices

Under the Code of Alabama, Section 6-8-62, a newspaper that publishes a legal notice must also post it on a statewide website set up to collect notices from most of the state’s newspapers. That site is AlabamaPublicNotices.com, run by the Alabama Press Association and the state’s newspapers, where you can search by county, newspaper or keyword. Foreclosures, bid advertisements, financial reports and ordinances all appear there. When we checked on Oct. 17 the site showed a scheduled maintenance notice.
