Valentine’s Day 2027 falls on a Sunday, Feb. 14. The one ticketed event already on Homewood’s calendar that weekend is Samford University’s spring dance concert. No Homewood restaurant had posted a Valentine’s menu as of Oct. 17; we add them here with the date, the time and a link to the restaurant when they do. We do not list prices.

On stage

Samford University’s School of the Arts stages “On the Record: Spring Dance Concert” at Harrison Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, Feb. 11-13, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, part of its Michael J. and Mary Anne Freeman Theatre and Dance Series. Tickets and details are on the Samford arts calendar. The week before, Samford’s guest artist series with the Birmingham Chamber Music Society brings pianist Gilles Vonsattel to Brock Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4.

The community Homewood Theatre in downtown Homewood stages comedies and musicals; its site says ticket holders get 15% off their check at SoHo Standard, SoHo Social or Social Taco on show nights. Its 2027 schedule was not posted when we checked.

Savage’s Bakery, 2916 18th St. S. in downtown Homewood, has been baking since 1939; it is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and closed Sunday, so order Valentine’s treats by Saturday, Feb. 13. 205-871-4901. Sweet Peas Garden Shop, Homewood’s garden center since 2002, sells living arrangements, including orchids, with local delivery.
