Easter is Sunday, March 28, 2027. Homewood’s city egg hunt comes early this year, on Saturday, March 20, at Patriot Park, the weekend before Homewood City Schools’ spring break (March 22-26). Good Friday, March 26, is the last day of the break.

The city egg hunt, March 20

The annual Homewood Easter Egg Hunt is at Patriot Park, 710 Oak Grove Road in West Homewood, for toddlers and children through age 10. Children hunt with their own age group, and there are games, prizes and pictures with the Easter Bunny, according to the event page.

Bring your own basket and arrive before your child’s hunt. Homewood Parks says “the eggs disappear fast.” The department’s special events list shows March 10, but the egg hunt’s own page gives Saturday, March 20, the date we use here. Call the parks office to confirm.

No Homewood church had posted a 2027 egg hunt or Easter service schedule as of Oct. 17, 2026. We add them here with the date, time, ages and place when they do.

Samford University holds a Good Friday Service at noon Friday, March 26, in Reid Chapel, on its arts calendar.

Easter menus had not been posted. These Homewood restaurants serve breakfast or brunch on Sundays, with hours from their own sites:

Easter baking

Savage’s Bakery, 2916 18th St. S. in downtown Homewood (its Easter bunny cake is pictured above), is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and closed Sunday, so Easter orders need to be picked up by Saturday, March 27. 205-871-4901.

Good Friday is not one of the six holidays Amwaste observes, so trash runs as normal that week, according to the city’s holiday service page. City Hall closed for Good Friday in 2026 under the city’s holiday schedule; the 2027 schedule had not been posted.
