Homewood City Schools’ spring break is Monday, March 22, to Friday, March 26, 2027. It is bracketed by the city’s Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 20, and Good Friday on March 26, with Easter Sunday on March 28. Library and parks programs for that week are added here when they are posted, usually in late winter.

Camps

Homewood Parks and Recreation’s camps page listed only Christmas Camp and the summer day camp as of Oct. 17, 2026, so there is no city spring break camp on the books yet. Summer camp details are on our summer camps and pools page.

Things to do over the break

  • Easter egg hunt, Saturday, March 20: at Patriot Park, 710 Oak Grove Road, for children through age 10, with games, prizes and the Easter Bunny. More on our Easter page.
  • Samford theater: “Sense & Sensibility” plays Samford’s Harrison Theatre at 7:30 p.m. March 18-20 and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 21, the weekend before the break. Samford arts calendar.

What is open

Pickups run on the normal schedule all week; Good Friday is not an Amwaste holiday, according to the city’s holiday service page. City Hall closed for Good Friday in 2026 under the city’s holiday schedule; the 2027 schedule had not been posted when we checked. Samford University holds a Good Friday service at noon March 26 in Reid Chapel.
