Events and fireworks

The City of Homewood holds no New Year’s Eve event of its own, and its calendar had nothing for the night when we checked. Fireworks in Homewood come in July, when the city’s Fourth of July festival looks out on Thunder on the Mountain; see our Fourth of July fireworks page. If a Homewood venue announces a New Year’s Eve party, dinner or countdown, it will be listed here with the time, place and a link to the venue’s own page. Venues with regular evening hours are on our live music and nightlife and date night guides.

Christmas tree disposal

The city had not posted its 2026-27 tree plan as of Oct. 17. Last season, in a Dec. 29, 2025, notice, it set out bins for trees and cardboard boxes at the Homewood Public Library and the West Oxmoor pool parking lot, and said trees could also go at the curb on trash day for the claw truck. The city also suggested cutting branches for mulch or garden beds. See our trash and recycling guide for the claw truck rules.
