9 Mexican and Tex-Mex places in Homewood, with hours from their own sites: SoHo, Edgewood, Oxmoor Road, Green Springs Highway and Wildwood.
Last checked 2026-10-17. Refreshed every three months.
Homewood’s Mexican and Tex-Mex places are spread across the city. SoHo and 18th Street South have Little Donkey, Social Taco and Herradura y Donas; Edgewood and Oxmoor Road have Taco Mama and Maya; Green Springs Highway has Tacos Don Tacho; and the Wildwood area off Lakeshore and State Farm parkways has the national chains.
How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Homewood’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 17, 2026. We added Chipotle, Herradura y Donas and Little Donkey, whose own sites give Homewood addresses. Maya, Social Taco and Tacos Don Tacho have no website we could open; we kept them because each had a Jefferson County Department of Health inspection in 2026. We left out Las Ahogadas and El Sol, which are inside Birmingham’s city limits, and Margaronas Cantina, Mexi King and Sabor Latino, which we could not confirm either way. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Write to us to correct your entry.
